Description:
Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated while staying at a motel in Memphis Tennessee. MLK was one of the largest contributors to the Civil Rights movement through his work with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and his inspirational speeches. His assassination angered many Americans who had looked up to him as one of the leaders of the Civil Rights movement, but also prompted Congress pass an equal housing bill, the final important legislation of the Civil Rights era.
