apr 5, 1933 - CCC

Description:

The Civilian Conservation Corps were founded under Roosevelt’s New Deal plan, and were probably the most popular New Deal program that existed. They provided jobs to unemployed, unmarried men during the Great Depression by letting them work unskilled manual labor jobs related to conserving and developing natural resources in rural areas. During its years of operation, the CCC served over 3 million young men, providing them with work, shelter, and food.
