nov 7, 1973 - The War Powers Act

Description:

The War Powers Act was an act put in place making it so the president had to declare to congress two days before putting troops in a place or situation of danger. There was also another side to the act saying that troops could only be deployed overseas for a original sixty day period but this can be changed and added thirty days to if needed to withdraw a permit. This has to be approved by congress if a declaration of war isn’t used to indicate military action. This give stricter regulations of the US military in a time of war. This was because President Johnson overused his privileges.
