Description:

Sputnik was when the soviet union was the first to launch a space satellite into orbit on October 4th, 1957. Because of this the United States felt the need to start up their space adventures quicker. The united states increased their education and wanted to make more people involved in the science and engineering. This sparked the creation of NASA which has been an extremely important group in the United States. It expanded the united states knowledge of outer space and allowed them to eventually send people to the moon and space.
