mar 15, 1939 - Hitler invades Czechoslovakia March 15, 1939
Description:
In March 1939, five months after the Munich Pact was signed, Hitler annexed the rest of Czchoslovakia, and the country ceased to exist. When Daladier and Chamberlain signed the Munich Pact, they thought they were only giving permission for Hitler to take Sudentenland. Little did they know that they also signed over 66% of Czechoslovakia's coal, 70% of its iron and steel, and 70% of its electrical power. This left Czechoslovakia completely vulnerable to German takeover, which is exactly what happened on March 15, 1939. This is an important event because it caused other countries to start protecting those vulnerable to German annexing.
