Description:
The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was in response to the attacks in the Gulf of Tonkin on the US Maddox. It allowed President Johnson to “take all necessary measures to repel any armed attack against the forces of the United States and to prevent further aggression”. The US ended up getting more involved in the Vietnam War because of this.
