Description:
By 1259, the Mongols had conquered China and became interested in Japan. Several threatening messages by the Mongols were ignored by Kamakura. This resulted in the first Mongol invasion attempt on the island of Kyushu. The Mongols sent a force of almost 30,000 men, however the invasion fleet was forced to pull back due to poor weather conditions.Added to timeline:
