mar 26, 1948 - American G.I Forum
Description:
The American G.I. Forum attempted to dissipate discrimination faced by Mexican American veterans. The founders were Ivonne Carrillo and Anjel Gonzáles. This organization aimed to bring national attention to the discrimination and testified in court cases such as Hernandez vs Texas. Originating in Texas, the success and demand for this organization caused other branches to become established in other U.S. states.
