jul 2, 1964 - STORY EVENT #10 - Civil Rights Act of 1964

Description:

The last event I am going to include is the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for the story event. After the 19th Amendment was passed, the Civil Rights Act was created. This act was the “official” beginning to the end of segregation in public areas and legally stopped employing someone based on race, color, religion, SEX, or national origin. This act was first proposed by Kennedy and was later officially signed by Lyndon B. Johnson. This act was the start to gender equality, and later this act was expanded into additional rights such as the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
