Description:

On the 25th of April, the first issue of the Black Panther Party Black Community News Service was created and published in the newspaper. This was a big step because it allowed the party to grow professionally, and allowed the party to become public with their ideas and goals. They gained support through this act of publishing this news article, and it gave them an outlet to talk about what they needed and wanted to accomplish. With this paper being published, the next step was to involve people in gatherings to help further advance the party. This leads to the next event, the riots. Word spreading with the articles being published leads to mass participation in public riots and protests around California.
