4 may 1961,the freedom rides was series of bus tours through the south to protest the bus terminal segregation. the freedom riders was a group of both blacks and whites. the freedom riders would switch what terminal they went it as well as whites sat in the back of the bus and then blacks sat in the front. the freedom riders were met with horrific violence.
