Description:

President Truman decided to drop two nuclear bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in order to ruin them enough to end the war. The bomb on Hiroshima destroyed 90% of the city. 80,000 people were immediately killed. The bomb on Nagasaki killed 40,000 people. Japan announced their unconditional surrender.
