dec 10, 1961 - Freedom Rides

Description:

The freedom riders were an interracial group of activists (seven African Americans and six White’s) that rode all throughout the south, refusing to leave the front of the bus when asked. They went against the segregation laws at the time, and protested for desegregation of public transportation. They traveled from Atlanta to Birmingham and faced many difficulties along the way.
