At Kent State University a Ohio National Guard fired shoots at people that were demonstrating against the Vietnam War. The shooting killed four people and wounded nine more. The students were protesting against the escalation of the war and the new need to draft another 150,000 troops. This shooting had an important role and was an important turning point in the conduct of the Vietnam War.
