In August 1963 about 250,000 people gathered in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC for a protest march. Here Martin Luther King held his very famous “I Have a Dream” speech and this nonviolent protest got a lot of attention to continue fight for the challenges and inequalities faced by the African Americans around the country.
