Description:

The Space Race between US and Soviet had been going on for a while during the Cold War and US knew that Soviet had the first artificial satellite. To catch up US started changing education to be able to compete with the others. They started teaching science in all schools and created NASA in July 1958. But 7:28 am in October 1957 US launched the first satellite into space.
