In April 1945 President Roosevelt faint and had symptoms of cerebral hemorrhage, by 3.30 pm the same day he is pronounced dead. The vise president Harry S Truman stepped in and took FDR's place. The new President became in charge of a country still fighting in the WWI without knowledge about what was going on with the american atom bombs.
