The Germanic Tribes arrived in Britain.
without the protection of the Roman Empire the celts were defenseless against new invasions. Most of them were slaughtered or fled to the westernmost fringes of the British Isles or to France. Some of the ones who stayed are thought to have fought alongside King Arthur.
- The Angles and the Saxons mixed up their languages which gave as a result what we now know as Anglo-Saxon.
- It mostly named things from the everyday life such as house, loaf, woman… that have lived through to our days. As well as some the days of the week that are named after Anglo-Saxon gods.
there is no written records of their languages but for some samples of a runic alphabet scratched on ceremonial stones (called runes).
