It seems that after decades of tough reforms enacted by brave leaders such as Deng Xiaoping and his successors, it finally paid off. China would overtake Japan as the second largest economy in the world in 2010. A position it currently holds to this day as of 2018. At the time Chinas GDP was 6.1 Trillion Dollars, now as of 2016, it is at 11.2 Trillion Dollars.
