After a 20 year civil that would begin in 1927, be interrupted by Japanese Aggression in WW2, then once again restart in 1946, the Communists led by Mao Zedong would take over mainland China while the Nationalists would set up a government on Taiwan. Mao Zedong would soon go on to start many disastrous policies for China.
