Description:
The Chicano Movement emerged during the Civil Rights era. The movement had three goals: to restore land, to gain rights for farm workers and to reform educational policies. The movement began in New Mexico with Reies López Tijerina and the Land Grant Movement. It was then passed on to Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales in Denver who refined the meaning of Chicano.
