Description:

this was created by the Saxons, so when someone shouted ‘Thief!’ they raised the ‘hue and cry’ and everyone in the village had to stop what they were doing and chase after the criminal or they would have to pay a fine.
This method was very successful because there was very few exits for the thief and sometimes the thief would be walled in completely.
