Description:
Most of the tlatilco figurines depicted women w an emphasis on wide hips, spherical upper thighs, pinched waist, elaborate hairstyles, and (most interestingly) two heads. This particular figurine is rare b/c it shows a single head with two mouths, two noses, and three eyes. The prevalence of two heads is theorized to be due to the tlatilco people’s interest in the idea of duality.Added to timeline:
