jan 20, 1955 - Germany Breaks Munich Pact Jan. 20, 1955
Description:
The Munich Pact was signed by Neville Chamberlain, Edouard Daladier, and Adolf Hitler. It helped leaders to avert the outbreak of war but gave Czechoslovakia away to German conquest. Under the agreement, Germany promised that if they got the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia, they would stop taking possession of countries. Once Hitler received Sudetenland, he annexed all of Czechoslovakia. On September 1, 1939, the German army invaded Poland. Two days later, Chamberlain called for a declaration of war against Germany, thus starting World War II.
