The Magna Carts is a charter,that was agreed to by King John of England on the 15th of June, 1215. The first draft was written by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the purpose of it was originally to make peace between King Jon and a group of rebel barons. The Magna Carta limits the power of the King, and brings into consideration the Rule of Law, meaning that everyone was to become equal before the law, including the King. The Magna Carta was a huge influence on man modern democracies, and was a factor in some of the decisions about the American Constitution and Bill of Rights.
