techniques are influenced by pottery found at Bandelier National Monument, designs based on natural phenomenon (rain clouds, bird feathers, rows of planted corn, river flows, etc.)
2 design bands
COMMUNITY: she signed the pots to add more value ($) which would help the community, the creation of the pots themselves was a community effort-- different people had different jobs
Painted designs w/ iron rich solutions, high temp firing, then fire was smothered (in manure) which resulted in the black color
