jan 24, 1788 - The First Fleet Arrives.

Description:

The first fleet arrives in Australia at Botany Bay on the 18th of January 1788. Botany bay was said to be unsuitable for settlement, and the fleet later arrived in Sydney cove on the 26th January 1788. The first fleet consisted of 2 warships, 6 convict ships and 3 supply ships. Captain Arthur Phillip was appointed as the governor of the established penal colony in New South Wales.
