Description:

Four Kent State University students were killed and nine were injured when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on a group who had gathered to protest the Vietnam War. In its aftermath, colleges and universities were forced to close temporarily. Some people believe that this event aided in the downfall of President Richard Nixon.
