jul 24, 1897 - Amelia Earhart
(1897 - 1937)
Description:
She was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone first, the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross, the first woman to fly an autogyro, and the first for many other records and accomplishments. Sadly, in 1937, Earhart and her friend attempted to fly around the world and her plane disappeared that year. There are many conspiracy theories as to what happened.
She has inspired many young girls who want to be pilots to follow their dreams.
"The most effective way to do it, is to do it."
