dec 10, 1830 - Nullification Act
Era 4
Description:
It declared that the tariffs from 1816 and 1828 were illegal in South Carolina. Practicing the idea that each state had the right to decline a federal law that was unfair. This led to the Civil War because the Northern states were the ones who
enforced those tariffs and the fact that a Southern state nullified them made them angry.
