jan 1, 1830 - NULLIFICATION ACT (ERA 4)

Description:

In 1830 the Nullification Act declared the tariffs of 1816 and 1828 were illegal in South Carolina, and each state had the right to nullify a federal law that the states deemed unconstitutional. It lead to the Civil War because more tariffs caused problems to the South.
