Al-Qaeda operatives hijack four commercial airlines. Crashing two into the World Trade Center of New York, one into the Pentagon and one in a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Close to three thousand people died in this attack. President Bush claimed he would end all terrorism and called on the Taliban regime to hand over their leaders.
