jan 1, 1926 - The first transatlantic call was made.
Description:
From London to New York the first call was made across the Atlantic Ocean. This was another important step for the telephone because it showed the advancements were steadily improving from a connection being made at all, to a call across the country, and then a call across a whole ocean. This call was very expensive, but it showed that it was possible to make calls across the ocean and gave hope that one day calls could be made across the world.
