On November 4th, 1995 Yitzhak Rabin, the prime minister of Israel was shot shortly after attending a peace rally. The gunman, 27 year old Jewish Israel law student, Yigal Amir was arrested almost immediately after the execution. Amir confessed saying that he shot Rabin because he was "giving our country to the Arabs.” However, the prime ministers one goal was to finally acheive peace in the Middle East.
