Description:

In September of 1978, Carter courageously invited Anwar Sadat of Egypt and Menachem Begin of Israel to a Summit Meeting at Camp David. In 13 days of negotiating, Israel agreed to withdraw from the territory conquered in the 1967 war, Egypt recognized Israel's borders, and both pledged to sign a formal peace treaty within three months. The agreement that was formalized is known as the Camp David Accords and gave great hope for peace in the region to be built upon this agreement. Not bad, Jimmy.
