nov 28, 1960 - Election of 1960
Description:
This is the first U.S. presidential election to be dramatically effected by television. Nixon was the favorite after having been V.P. for 8 years. The charming young Kennedy was able to go head to head with Nixon in televised debates. Appearances did matter for the outcome as Kennedy won by only 118,000 votes. The new Kennedy Administration launched its New Frontier, which was a fitting name as America changed dramatically in so many ways in the new decade.
