nov 19, 1863 - Gettysburg
Address
Description:
This speech, delivered as a dedication of the Gettysburg cemetery, is perhaps the most eloquent and concise presentation of the ideals of the American Revolution since Jefferson's Declaration. Lincoln reinterpreted and applied the ideal to fit his times. He also kept it short, 272 words, delivered in less than 3 minutes.
