The United States tried to control who the leader of Mexico was. President Woodrow Wilson disliked the Huerta who was the leader at the time which caused them to occupy Veracruz. There were many different ideologies between all of the Mexican presidents during the revolution.

Carranza wanted the return of values from the Constitution of 1857. On the other hand, Diaz expanded the industrial sector, oversaw the construction of thousands of miles of railroad tracks, imported technological advances such as the telegraph. Most hated Huerta’s ideas and Madero believed in the revolution.
