jan 1, 1787 - After the recovery of a Cretaceous strata at Woodberry, New Jersey. Sir Richard Owen presented his treatise on British fossil reptiles to the British Association officially in 1841. This was one of the first proposals that these fossils/once dinosaurs were reptiles.
