jan 1, 1876 - Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone
It was during March that he received the patent for the telephone and it was regarded as one of the most valuable patents in history. It gave Bell the credit for the telephone because his competitor, Elisha Gray, had a similar method around the same time. But, Bell’s invention was the first telephone that could actually transmit speech and not just sounds. The telephone he created was the basis for all telephones to follow.
