jul 2, 1967 - Minneapolis Riots

Description:

In the summer of 1967, the riots started on July 2nd and lasted for around three nights on Plymouth Avenue in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. The protests unlike many of the other civil rights protests were much more violent and destruction was given to many of the shops and buildings throughout North Minneapolis. The protests were in response to the African Americans being marginalized into housing that they didn’t want, but were never allowed to buy new homes.
