jun 1, 1964 - Freedom Summer
Description:
The Freedom Summer was a demonstration to turn out more African American voters during the summer of 1964. The demonstration was conducted by CORE and the SNCC aimed at bringing the 1,000 African Americans out of Mississippi along with more African American Mississippians to completely push the voter registration further. The Klu Klux Klan and many more state authorities met the demonstrators with violent restriction which again painted a bad image on the state authorities in Mississippi.
