Martin Luther King Jr.'s house was bombed by segregationists in retaliation for the success of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. While king was speaking at a meeting to support the bus boycott, someone planted a bomb on his front porch. While his wife and child were not injured, many angry supporters of MLK surrounded his house . King was able to decrease the crowd’s frustration, and as a result of the bombing, many supporters became more steadfast in their support of King.
