Description:

During the civil rights movement many forms of protesting not granting African Americans their civil rights were common and one of them included sit ins. In Greensboro, North Carolina between February 1 – July 25, 1960 a group of African Americans gathered in a segregated lunch places and refused to leave after being granted service, so they decided to protest by just having a massive sit in. The sit-in movement spread to more college towns throughout the South. Though many of the protesters were arrested for trespassing their actions made an immediate and lasting impact, making the establishments look really bad and publically having to change their policies
