During a time of massive outcry towards how white’s were murdering tons of African Americans for their anger towards the civil rights movement Medgar Evers became a victim of that anger. Medgar Evers was standing outside his home when a white supremacist, Byron De La Beckwith, shot him down to death in Jackson, Mississippi. This murder showed the severe problem of how African American civil rights leaders were treated and Byron De La Beckwith was found not guilty twice by an all white jury showing the brutal racism present in the country.Added to timeline:
