The Warsaw Pact was a mutual defense organization with Albania, Poland, Romania, Hungary, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, and the Soviet Union as the leader. The pact was created in response to the creation of NATO, however the pact ended officially when Poland and Czechoslovakia declared democratic governments.
