"On April 17th, 1999, the HOME Department of Press and Media began a coverup campaign to obfuscate the truth behind OPERATION: DELUGE. Media outlets were told that a special military training procedure had taken place outside Newport, Nebraska. Further, the explosion caused during a training incident. Roads surrounding the contaminated site were blocked off by military personnel. Radioactive fallout from the nuclear warhead was observed travelling north due to strong winds in the area. Citizens of Mariaville, the town north of Newport, were ordered to evacuate, being told that a hazardous chemical gas was present in the area."
