"Due to the nature of the anomaly field and its effects on local matter, scientists at HOME hypothesized that the Hypercore Organ could be terminated with the use of high-powered directed energy weapons (DEWs). These DEWs could be placed at strategic points around the perimeter of the anomaly field, aimed in such a way to account for dilation and warping of space. Calculations made from the data collected at the anomaly field in Rockford enabled researchers to develop an array of DEWs placed in precise locations to target the Hypercore Organ. The development of these DEWs was approved and commissioned by Dr. James Gardner in accordance with the termination protocol. This array of DEWs was called the STARLIGHT ARRAY. The STARLIGHT ARRAY consisted of 7 high powered directed energy platforms powered by an internal battery usable for a 30 second firing inerval."

"On March 5th, 1999, at 9:22 PM, the STARLIGHT ARRAY was activated, firing directed energy from the 7 radial platforms into the Hypercore, incinerating the reactor and disabling the anomaly field. During the 30 second firing interval, the atmospheric temperature within the anomaly field at Rockford rose to 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Following the termination of the reactor, an explosion equivalent to an estimated 300 kilotons of TNT was observed caused by internal collapse of the magnetic plasma suspension inside the reactor. Suspended material such as trees, powerlines, infrastructure, and cars immediately fell or were incinerated by the reactor. During the explosion, a dimensional warp was observed folding the landscape in on itself."
