22h 22min, feb 20, 1999 y - Dr. James Gardner discusses the risks of a synchronized attack on the STARKILL with Dr. Stanley Vega

Description:

Dr. Gardner: "If we do shut down all research on the STARKILL, what kind of risk are we looking at?"

Dr. Vega: "If we manage to destroy all remaining instances of AZ-001 in synchronicity, there is still a 20% chance of backups in the Akashic Plane allowing for just a single STARKILL cell to remain active. If we destroy our samples, we'll be on the back foot. The only option at that point is to go through with Looking Glass."

Dr. Gardner: "Vega, do you believe that AZ-001 is conscious of its own strategy? Does it know our strategies?"

Dr. Vega: "I don't know, but there's evidence to suggest that it has seen the future. It gave Michaels a vision of itself. A vision in which it showed it will destroy everything we've built. If it can do that. it's safe to assume that it's aware of our strategy."

Dr. Gardner: "But how much more dangerous would it be to keep the samples?"

Dr. Vega: "We wouldn't even be able to order a synchronized attack. It would just back itself up with those samples. And who knows how they could psychologically contaminate us. We've seen what other STARKILL hubs have done, like in Haviland. No doubt it would lead to significant psychological contamination within HQ. In fact, we don't even know if that's currently happening. The sooner we destroy the samples, the sooner that rsik dissipates. Then again, we'll be on the back foot if a synchronized attack fails."

Dr. Gardner: "I think it's safe to say we ought to go through with complete termination of all samples. There's too much of a risk. We need to begin the offensive."
