the 16th street baptist church's congregation mainly consisted of black individuals. September 15 in Alabama before Sunday morning service a bomb exploded. the bombing was an act of extreme terrorism against a place that also held the meeting place of the civil rights leaders. the bomb injured many and killed four young girls.
